Overhook Clamp & Split Guard (Offense)

Overhook Clamp Guard (Over Hook)
I. Position
1. Side Clamp
For an effective clamp position you need angle and height.
-You are on your side/one hip (angle) and your top knee is higher than your opponents head.
-Your opponent will try to square up so that he is over top of you (his head above your knee and you on your back). To do this, he will need to push off the floor with his free hand.

2. Vertical Clamp(Split Guard)
Upper Body Options
a. Head Control
b. Overhook
c. Lat Grip

II. Maintaining/Recovering Position
1. Opp. Pushes Off The Floor
-Use the shoe lace part of the foot or ankle to kick out opp. arm
-Use flat of the foot to kick out the opp. arm.
